Hi there,

I am quite novice in FLUENT, but I d like to make it clear the use of UDF.
For instance, my first target is to visualise blood flow into a bifurcated vessel. I have done the geometry in SolidWorks, Meshing in ANSA and the next step is FLUENT. I am quite confused how could I input parabolic profile as well as periodic. Is that feasible without UDF?

Thank you in advance!

Look into how to make a PROFILE, which is just a text file with x,y,z and values or time and values. This could get you 99% of the way there. There's tutorials for both of these in the Fluent help / user's guide.

The limitation of the PROFILE file is you cannot have both coordinates and time as independent variables. I.e. it is either a spatial profile or temporal file, not both.

To get an example profile. The easiest way is to go into your .cas file, initialize the problem with something. And then write a profile file on your boundaries. Then you can edit it to suit your needs. Well you should write one anyway because this gives you the x,y,z's for your grid and helps you avoid interpolating.
