Hello everyone,
I am modeling a solar updraft tower using DO radiation model. I want to know the energy emitted by the ground. But fluent has 'volumetric emitted radiation' term which is not clear to me. As emission is a surface phenomenon, fluent doesn't have emitted radiation. Can anyone help me to understand this? Thank you. |

You can find it in wall fluxes (Wall Radiative Heat Flux).
Radiation (photons moving around) is a volumetric phenomenon. You are specifically referring thermal radiation emitted by surfaces (the process of generating the photons), and not the actual motion of the energy (the radiation). Volumetric emitted radiation is like a net heat flux but for radiation (after absorption and scattering). |
