Hi,

I am simulating a heat transfer of a object in a furnace.(please see the following pic). Air1 or furnace wall has a Fixed temperature in this problem. I want to apply radiation BC on the outer surface of steel2.

Now I have two question about this case:

1. Is it necessary to create volume of air1 in computational domain? I think I can apply radiation BC on outer surface of steel2 and it is not necessary to create air1. Am I right?

2. In fact,in this case, external emissivity is emissivity coefficient of furnace wall or hot air(air1). Also, External radiation temperature is temperature of air1 or furnace wall. Am I right?

Thanks for your guidance.
