I'm simulating a filter press. One of the things i'm having trouble with is the calculation of pressure drop variation as function of solid accumulation, which is being highly underestimated in comparison with the experimental data (by a factor of 100). So my question is: is Euler-Euler model, by itself, qualified for representing pressure drop as consequence of drag in highly concentrated solid systems?
Would it be more adequate if I set the filter cake domain as a porous zone in which the flow resistance is a function of the average solid concentration? Thank you in advance, Vaelyn |
