Hi everyone, I've recently switched my Fluent version to the 2019 R3. By running older version cases (17.2) I've run into an unpleasent incongruence.
All my wall defined BCs now have switched with the respective shadows and I can't understand why.

Anyone knows why this happens? What am I missing here?

Thank you very much for your collaboation.

(It also happens with brand new cases, wall and shadows are inverted)

Do you have any specific code or journal that requires wall and their shadows not to be inverted, such as, setting of certain conditions on the basis of whether a wall is a wall or its shadow? If not, then it does not matter which one is wall and which one is shadow. The decision is made by Fluent on the basis of IDs and those are assigned on the basis of mesh connectivity. The algorithm may change with versions to improve the speeds for I/O.

Hi vinerm, no luckily I don't have any IDs related journal or UDF functions. It just pisses me off because I have to replace the monitor lists with every old case.

Monitor values will be same whether applied on wall or its shadow until and unless you are monitoring a quantity that exists only for fluid, such as, y^+.
