Hello everyone,
I'm trying to model flow through a porous medium (100s of layers of steel wire mesh). I need to study the transient heat transfer between the porous medium and the hot air flowing past so I'm trying to select the "Non-Equilibrium" option in the porous media options. However, the option is grayed out. I've been looking around but no luck so far, does anyone know what options need to be selected? |

Hi everyone, in case anybody runs into this problem, I've found the solution. If you're working with a density based solution, you need to set it as a pressure based solution first. Then select the non-equilibrium model and allow Fluent to automatically create the adjacent solid zone. Then, you may change from the pressure based solver to the density based solver.
If you initially select the density based solver before defining the non-equilibrium model, it will be grayed out. |
