# Velocity contours and velocity profiles for a rotor

 February 20, 2021, 00:32 Velocity contours and velocity profiles for a rotor #1 New Member   Yael Join Date: Apr 2020 Posts: 3 Rep Power: 4 Dear all, As part of my school project I was given the task of plotting contours of axial, radial and tangential velocity for a rotor and profiles for the same velocities as function of the radial coordinates r normalised. I'm solving a transient simulation with a dynamic mesh. The problem is that I don't know how to exactly obtain the graphs. I tried using lines along the X direction (which I understand gives me the variation of the radial coordinates) as seen in the following picture: 1.png Then I use this line to plot a graph of X distance vs. Axial velocity in CFD-Post, for different downstream distances (z/R) and I obtain the following: 2.png I'm supposed to get this graph: 3.png And apparently the curves are all right for the radial velocity too but then there is no tangential velocity on CFD-Post, so I had to move to FLUENT and this time the curves did not match: 4.png 5.png Besides, when I try to plot contours of velocity they also seem different. I'm trying to plot them on the XY plane (all the velocities) but they do not have the form that they should. How should I exactly plot these values and obtain the graphs? If there is anybody who has done this, their help would be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance for your attention!
