Gmsh and Gambit produce .msh files. Those contains only the mesh geometry data and face patches used for boundary conditions. You import the .msh file into Fluent and create the .cas file. That will contain flow information (like density, pressure, velocities at boundary conditions), model types, etc. along with the mesh date.

Good luck.

I think the .msh produced by Gmsh is different and is based on finite element data.

There seem to be no converter so I am going to write one in coming days as I get time because for FVUS it is easier to work with Fluent format and many people can use this converter (as opposed to me converting it to FVUS format directly).
This is planned but I keep putting off in favour of other things.

Unfortunately it is no help as of now.

You can try to OpenFOAM's convesion tools. You can convert the gmsh .msh file to OpenFOAM (gmshToFoam) and then convert the OpenFOAM mesh to a Fluent .msh file (foamMeshToFluent) and see what happens.

It works, thank you! Besides, I still have problems with boundary conditions. The physical surfaces I set in Gmsh is missing after transformed into .msh for fluent. Could you tell me how to handle this?

An alternative solution could be to export nastran bulk data file from gmsh to suddenly import it on fluent.
However, I've noticed that this doesn't work for some of the linux Fluent releases.

Yes and No.

Depending on the purpose. In your case you don't need to pay for licensing.

Hello arjun, I know it has been long but any chance with that gmsh to fluent converter?
