Hi,

I want to report some statistics about a flow, such as, which percentage of the volume has lower velocities than some value (e.g. 0.5m/s). I see there is a possibility to build histograms and this could be enough. However, they are based on the number of elements, but each element can have different volume so knowing that 50% of elements have velovities inferior to 0.5 m/s is not of help!!

Do you know any way to achieve this? I was thinking that if Fluent is not able perhaps some postprocessing software like Tecplot360 would fit my needs (i have never used any before).

Thanks in advance

Hi everyone,

Does someone have a solution to this issue, I would also be interested to know about this feature if it exists.

Thanks,

Johnny

Volume integrals exist. CFD-post even gives the option of including weight functions. If you don't have a weight function in your post-processor, you can simply create one via a custom field function.

Threshold parts also exist. Create thresholds above/below your criteria and then make a report on the part.

Solutions exist but but they require a little bit of inside the box thinking.
