Hi everyone,

I am new to modeling heat and mass transfer using ANSYS FLUENT.

I am trying to model the heat and mass transfer from hot air (air+vapor mixture) to liquid solution (water+salt mixture) through a membrane using ANSYS FLUENT. The vapors from the hot air side is being transferred to fluid side through membrane and it is being absorbed in liquid solution (changing the phase). This mass transfer has been modeled with the use of UDF.

I have turned ON the "Energy" and "Species Transport" models.

Using aforementioned settings , ANSYS FLUENT does not consider the effect of heat due to phase change of (vapors into liquid solution) in analysis.

Do I need to model by treating as multi-phase flow? or there any other way to consider the effect of this phase change heat?

Can I modify the energy equation by developing a UDF?

Regards,
