I am simulating the flow of water through a ships reverse thrust bucket for an intro CFD course. I expected to see some separation of flow as it impacted the bend. However, when I ran my simulation and plot a contour of the wall shear stress I see no zero points. Am I using the wrong metric to see if separation occurs or am I wrong in my initial assumption that separation would occur? (I attached an image of the geometry)
