premixed turbulent combustion -- CFD Online Discussion Forums

Tom Guest Posts: n/a	Does anyone have any experince of using the premixed turbulent combustion model in Fluent 5? I am trying to model the combustion of methane and air, however, the mixture burns as soon as it enters the domain. To slow down the progress variable (c) I have been reducing the critical rate of strain to increase the effect of flame stretch. This method has the desired effect, however, the solution becomes unstable and fails. Any advise!!!!!
