Pipe flow

I am doing an internal flow problem through a pipe. I need to know what boundary conditions I have to provide at the inlet / outlet. PLease advise. lots of thanks to every message sender!

If you model a compressible flow in your pipe, use Pressure Inlet.

Shall I use only pressure inlet or velocity inlet, and not the both. The known values for me are ; pressure inlet, velocity inlet & temperature inlet. At outlet, I know the back pressure, that is, pressure outside the pipe. Please elaborate briefly. Thanks!

You can't use both boundary conditions if you don't want to implement them using a user defined function.
Choose the boundary condition on the basis of the flow you have. If you have a compressible flow, like a gas, use a pressure inlet, else, if you have an uncompressible flow, like water, you should use a velocity inlet. Hope this helps. Hi ap |
