Flow through electrical field -- CFD Online Discussion Forums

Ralf Schmidt Guest Posts: n/a	Hi, I was wondering, if it is possible in Fluent, to simulate the flow of a liquid (air) through an electrical field. I have a (vertical) nozzle as a cathode and a grid placed horizontally above the nozzle as an anode. There is either a high voltage (about 20 kV) AC or DC field in-between them. Can Fluent simulate the shape of the e/m field? How is this field affecting my flow? The air is going to be ionized, can fluent simulate this? Someone said, I should use PDF model for the reaction â€" what parameters should I apply? Any help is appreciated! Ralf
