How to get cell value by node value?

If I get the node values, how to caculate cell values?

Hi,
Node values are calculated by fluent by averaging the values of the surrounding cells using a weighting defined by the inverse of the distance between the node and each cell centroid. If you want cell values just uncheck the 'node values box' when you're plotting your results - or if you're exporting data specify cell values. Fluent does the calculations for you. Regards. |

Thanks for your reply!
I export the node value in Tecplot file format,and I read these node value to caculate cell value. There's no option such as "node value" or "cell value" when I export file! Help!Thanks a lot!!!!! |

Hi,
Yes, the tecplot format exports node values. Difficult to back calculate to cell values without knowledge of the precise interpolation scheme used by fluent for getting node values (the weighting etc)... Could you export a separate ascii point file at cell centres and import this within tecplot? or simply use that in another program. Steve |
