Convergence problem

hi all,
I'm new to using FLUENT. I'm currently doing a simulation on displacement ventilation in an enclosed room. Somehow, the solution cannot converge when I turn on the energy equation. It starts off fine in the first 50- 60 iterations, but after that, the residuals start to flacuate about vigorously about a level. Reducing the URF seems to help a bit, but after 300 or so iterations, the residues seem to flacuate again, though only slightly. Has anyone encountered the same problem? |

Hi Killian,
Are you using tetrahedral grid? How many continuum zone (region/domain) do you have? My problem involve many domain, and with energy equation and viscous model. Somehow my simulation cant converge also, and as a result the temperature range of my result is unphysical. Please refer to my post for more info. http://www.cfd-online.com/Forum/fluent.cgi?read=43862 Good luck! Tuw |
