high pressure exhaust flow

Default high pressure exhaust flow

Is it possible to get reasonable results from flowing exhaust ports when flow is sonic or above? I've been told by many knowledgeable experts that it cannot be done accurately. I want to flow an exhaust port with the valve at low lift and upstream/downstream pressure ratio equaling 2:1.
