Hello ,
I just want to ask how can i get the required points to draw NACA 0015 as a 3dimensional surfaces . I want to use these points on analysing a Wind turbine on fluent and GAmbit . I surfed on google but i found nothing . I will be thankful if someone can tell me where ? Thanks in advance H.A.S |

Not sure if this is what you are looking for exactly, but Prof. Selig at the University of Illinois has a large database of 2D coordinates for many airfoils. It is located here:
http://www.ae.uiuc.edu/m-selig/ads/coord_database.html You can import these points into a CAD package or into Gambit and create the airfoil outline, you'd then have to add twist, sweep, etc. on your own to complete the 3-D profile. |

hi friends
iam currently working on naca 0015 airfoil flow analysis at mach 0.1 i had downloaded tutorials for an default airfoil and working on it but it doesnt works on naca 0015 airfoil meshing of the surface surrounding the airfoil is showing errors if any one knows how to solve it please reply me |

Are you trying to mesh it using a quad meshing scheme? If so, Your problem may be that you have an odd number of elements on one the edges of the airfoil - to change this in GAMBIT, slightly tweak the edge mesh size and watch how many nodes it creates on the edge.

Hi,
I'm working as you to a 3-d geometry with a naca 0015 profile, using Gambit. I have a lot of problems first at all I have created the matrix.dat of the points' coordinates (n° 300 points) using the wording x y z, where z=0.0 for the front face of the blade. After that, I use the command NURS to link the vertex but Gambit use a very inaccurate interpolation: the line that it creates it's faraway from the vertex point. This is only the first problem..it's my pleasure to receive your help or advices to resolve the geometry! thanks |

Hello everyone,
I'm meshing on Star-CCM+, but in Star it does not supply C-mesh or O-mesh type for the foils. So I would try to use Gambit. Can any one share me Gambit software? many thanks! --------------------------- trieuckgt@gmail.com or MSN: trieu.dut@live.com |
