Hi all,

I am verifying the model of a thesis, but the boundary conditions provided in the thesis have boundary condition as no reflux(of a specified species), but no such option is shown while I was giving the BC. There are only two conditions which a user can input: -
1. No diffusive Flux.
2. Specified initial concentration.
Please tell whether the condition 1. and the provided in the thesis are same or different.

Thank you.

Initial concentration sounds like an initial condition, which is not a boundary condition.

What does no reflux mean? Does that mean like no flux back into the domain of any type? Sorry but you might have to read the thesis more carefully.

No diffusive flux only limits the diffusion into/out of the boundary and is only a constraint, not a complete boundary condition, because there is still an advective flux. It might be possible that the advective flux is taken care of by the discretization scheme (e.g. purely upwind), but in general this is not a guarantee.

Thank You LuckyTran for your reply, I was interpreting the same as you have, but in the thesis, it is clearly written as no reflux, that is what I am not able to understand. For your reference, I am attaching the snapshot of the thesis. Also, do the "no proton flux" highlighted with orange means the same no reflux?
