Hi all,
my work is to simulate the flow and heat transfer in slurry consists of water and some percentage of phase change materials .when this slurry or suspension enter to the channel is heated and these phase change materials is melted.my problem is I dont know how to introduce the value of volume fraction percentage of PCM in the slurry in fluent to tell fluent that the fluid is not PCM in all but it contain a percentage of PCM in water . Please any one have an information to how to simulate this suspention and how to process the melting of the PCM and entering its value of volume fraction to help me Regards |

Hi,Rosol I read you problem description and can give you some suggestion. And I repeat you problem as below.
You have a fluid (you called slurry fluid) that contain the water and the PCM (phase change material). The fluid goes into the channel and is heated by the conditions, so you PCM will be solidfication or melt. Is that right? If it is right, I can give you some informaition. Your problem is included the multiphase model and the solification/melting model. Maybe first you can choose the "Mixture" multiphase model (you say it likes the slurry fluid.....), and set the primary phase to water and the secondary phase to PCM (The detail setup you can see the multiphase model). Secondary, you must enable the "Solification/melting model" and set the solidus temperature, liquidus temperature and melting heat in material setting for your PCM properties. Third, in the boundary condition, I think your entrance of the channel is the "Velocity inlet". In the velocity inlet, you can click the "Species" tab and setup the species mass fraction. The species mass fraction is set for your water/PCM. I hope it is helpful to you. Best regards, Ben Tseng, from Taiwan, ROC. |
