Hello,
I'm a relatively new user of FLUENT/CFD and am curious as to how to properly set up my single Q6600 machine to run parallel simulations. So far, I have yet to see any performance increases running through "Parallel FlUENT" and serial FlUENT. In addition, using the FLUENT launcher in parallel mode usurps 75% cpu without even having loaded any *.cas file. Some questions: 1) Must I set up a host file? 2) In fluent launcher, since I'm using a 32-bit O/S, I only have access to the following MPI options (default, mpich2, net). Which should I be using? 3) Are parallel jobs dependent on having a proper license key? Regards, Kevin |

Very easiest way to do it.....without knowing any thing.....
just right click on fluent shortcut and somewhere it says application location like as follow.... c:\Fluent.Inc\ntbin\fluent.exe just change it to c:\Fluent.Inc\ntbin\fluent.exe -t4 that is it....enjoy.... -t4 means four processors. -t2 means two processors.... |
