Take a simple thermal model with a heat flux from a flat wall and air flowing over the wall. When plotting the temperature contours on the wall, I typically see higher max values for temperature on the wall when I show a contour plot of node values than when I plot element values. The air temperature is far lower than the wall temperature.
Aren't node values supposed to be an average of all the values in the adjacent cells? If so, how can I get a higher max value when plotting node values than when plotting element values? |
