Hi,
I have a question that applies to hybrid LES/RANS: I use the beta feature SAS model, although strictly an URANS it has more unsteady capabilities then regular URANS. I model a pipe expansion, my geometry upstream of the step is a RANS zone, and the geometry in the recirculation part is an unsteady zone. Can the I still use init-instantaneous-vel to impose resolved fluctuations as initial condition. I use a uniform velocity profile at the velocity inlet, and the Fluent Theory Guide mentions that to impose resolved fluctuations as a BC is not recommended for uniform velocity inlet. I also consider trying out DES btw |
