Hi
I am going to model a domain which include two cylinder which are located in each other, the inner cylinder is half of the other one in length, I am going to consider two phase flow, the second flow is located partly in inner and outer cylinder, the second flow geometry is again like a cylinder. my problem is after the simulation only the main phase is shown and in all the domain the second phase is zero, please let me know if there is any solution for that, I can send u the .case file in case if you want to see, |

I tried like this according to "Define from File menu Autosave for cas and dat files and then use Tecplot" svetlin roccomendation but there come an error like "err bad value error accourred on line 4 near position marked with "@" below (4 (60 0 0 1 2 4 4 4 8 8 4 )@)
2. I dont know how to mark a region with completely desired shape and not the sphere or cylinder or tetrahedral shape available in fluent, thanks very much if I could be informed by that; |

when loading files in TECPLOT , use option for Fluent case and data file read.
I do not have Tecplot installed in front of me but ... see the options from the file menu... it is there.. do not just load case and data file... |

U can work it with "Adapt->region" in fluent, if this method is not available, U can mark the region u want to patch in Gambit when U mesh the geometry. In Gambit, press "Continuity" button, choose the right volume then select the fluid and define it with a new name. When u load this mesh in fluent, u can see the region u just marked in Gambit in "solve->initial->patch->zones to patch", then u can patch it with the value u wanna to. Wish this will help U. Raijin.

thanks very much for reply but still I have problem with capturing the fluid motion which could be done through fluent itself or using tecplot,
could you let me know step by step how can I do that with either of the upper way, cause I am new in fluent, thank you very much in advance |

I told you.... use Autosave option from File menu->Write...
Then use (in Tecplot) From File menu->Load DataFile(s)... and then choose "Fluent data Loader "... There u can load all case and data files |

Hi Stevlin
Thanks, Maybe I make a mistake but as far as I see there is no “fluent data loader option” in File menu --> load data file, only I can load .dat and .plt, I used to load .dat but the problem is when I load it the error: “err bad value error accourred on line 4 near position marked with "@" below (4 (60 0 0 1 2 4 4 4 8 8 4 )@)” appears My tecplot is version 8, I don’t know whats the problem? |

Yes... this is the problem lower versions do not have direct fluent data loader... and you have to export data to Tecplot from Fluent menu.... Down load the latest version of Tecplot360

give some more details on the model you have. Tell more on BCs... how did you set up them?
