Hi, I am simulating a foil shaped fairing moving through seawater. Which type of solver should I use? Pressure or density based? I am pretty new to CFD so any advice or explanations of these solvers would help me out a lot.
Thanks Tom |

You can search in the Fluent help, you'll find some pretty comprehensive explanations about the solvers.

Hi Tom,
It depends on your flow characteristics. Normally you would use pressure based for incompressible flow and density based for compressible flow. Assuming you have incompressible flow you could use the pressure based solver. Sincerely, A.D.E |
