Hi, does anyone know how can I detect the hairpin structures in the turbulent boundary layer (on a flat plate without pressure gradient) in fluent?, is it possible to see the hairpin structures without using the UDF.
Thanks a lot.

I dont think so.

In FLUENT we will be using turbulence models to simulate the effect of turbulence in the flow field.

We dont model the transient transition from the laminar to turbulent flow.

It is not possible. May be with DNS it may be possible but it is in the research stage only.

Thanks a lot Antony, is it possible to see the streaks in the turbulent boundary layer in fluent?, if yes, how?

Steakline for steady flow can be obtained in the form of pathline and stream line. Unsteday flow provision is not there. I dont know if it is available in the latest version.
