Greetings Shahid,

It might depend on the CFD software you'll be using. But from what I know, most CFD software will not take good advantage of the HyperThread feature that the i7 CPUs are known to have.

Without more information about what specific i5 and i7 CPU models you're looking into, the i5 with 8GB would be best. I say this because there are a few i7 CPU models that have an integrated Intel HD Pro graphics GPU, which allows for an additional pseudo-L4 cache level, which has been discussed here: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/har...aptop-cpu.html

Best regards,
Bruno
