Default 3-D turbulence model with wall function

Hello everyone:

I am working on the 3-D turbulence model with wall function. I am confused how to implement the wall function in the 3-D problem. It seems quite different from 2-D problem. I don't know how to get the two components of velocity parallel to the wall since what we get from the wall function is the total velocity (or shear stress) and we don't know the velocity direction. Could anyone help me out?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Henry

I believe there must me some people familiar with this problem if you use wall function in 3-D problems. I will be very appreciated if anyone could give me some hints about it.

Thanks.

Read Dr. M. Peric's Ph.D thesis. "A finite volume method for the prediction of three-dimensional fluid flow in complex ducts" page 138-143. The University of London, Imperial College 1985.

I hope this helps,

Halim

Thank you, Halim. I am afraid that I couldn't get the paper since it is a thesis not a public publication paper. Anyway, I hope someday I could read it. Is there any other idea?

Thanks again.

I think you are eager to read it. Post your email or home address. I will copy or scan that portion of thesis and I will send it to you.
