What's mixing plane?

Dear All,
I'm now trying to access the cfd on turbomachinery. Some software (like numeca, fluent) solve a steady turbomachinery problem using the mixing plane method. What's the definition of a mixing plane? How to transport the flux between the rotor and stator at the mixing plane? |
