Is learning PDEs important for CFD Research?

I am particularly interested in developing CFD codes for graduate school. Is learning Partial differential equations important for CFD? I've learned ODE, but have yet to take a course in PDEs.

I see. If I were to choose between taking a PDE and numerical analysis class, which one should I pick?

Both. In you have to choose one, go for numerical methods

I wish I can take both, but I don't think I can fit it in my schedule. I can always take one of the courses when I'm a graduate student though.
