Hi everyone, recently I've been writing the literature review part of my Master thesis, which concentrates on bubble dynamics. However, when I try to summarize the existing numerical methods to describe the gas-liquid interface, I become confused
![]() Could you pls tell me the key difference between the two methods? ![]() |

OK, after reviewing more papers, now I believe the difference between these two methods is actually quite small: the immersed boundary method was originally introduced by Peskin to follow the motion of elastic boundaries in fluids, and was later extended by Unverdi and Tryggvason to describe the fluid interface in multiphase flow (now it's called front-tracking method).

Thanks for the information.I am also doing my project on bubble(bubble rising inside a liquid column). Can you kindly tell me how to use front tracking method to simulate a bubble inside a liquid column.
