Hi
i'm trying to validate the case of U-bend pipe case from Ercoftac data base using Fluent. the geometry is as shown, the straight part is 18D long, the diameter is D=1m and the diameter of the curve is 6D. i have only included 1D length of the outlet side to reduce the computational time and mesh size. could you please advice me regarding the quality of my mesh. does the figure showing the contours of axial velocity make sense? why am i getting negative values for the tangential and radial velocities and it doesn't match -not even a bit-the real data while the axial velocity does to some extent !! could you please advice me how can i improve the model and the results thanks in advance |

can any one tell me whether my mesh is a structured or unstructured mesh? how can you know that from the pictures?
some one advice me to try a structured mesh to see how it can improve my results but how can i do that in Fluent |
