Can someone please recommended texts/papers for simulating compressible particle gas dynamics?

How about the 'Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics: a meshfree particle method' written by G.R. Liu and M.B. Liu?
It illustrate the use of SPH method to solve various examples including compressible flows. It also contains sample codes written in fortran at the last part of the book. |

My suggesting was just to introduce a book including that subject. If you have that book, you can easily implement SPH by your own in-house codes.
