Default Post-processor for Realtime movie?

Hi guys,

I want to take pressure readings from an experiment rig using electronic sensors and feeding the readings into a pc. The readings are fed into the PC in CSV format (exported to EXCEL).

If I could reproduce a model of the apparatus and the sensors in a post-processor, would it be possible to get the post-processor to read the real-time readings and apply them to the model in order to produce a continuous movie on screen of what is going on???? (I think this could be similar to a post-processor reading transient results?).

This is my thoughts on how to produce a realtime movie of the experiment. Has anyone else tried something similar? I'm open to suggestions on how best to achieve this!!

Thanks, Dave

You would be able to do it in Matlab. I had used matlab to read several data files and post process them into a movie, only difference being that the data files came from numerical simulations. How about labview ? I'm not sure of it though.

Thanks Harish!

I've never used matlab or labview, is it possible to create contour movies of the variables?

I want to demonstrate the flow using this method to non-engineers so I need the colour movie!

Thanks again

Yes you can do it. Matlab has commands to create movie frames and to stack all the frames together to make an avi file. You can create a movie of any kind of 2d and 3d plot supported in matlab. The help is exhaustive and its straight forward to make the movies even without any background in matlab.
