Hi All, Does anyone know how to do steady state simulation (involved both fludis flow and heat transfer) with Flow-3D?

Thanks and Regards CK

Hi. Firstly you must make a 3-dimentional model which you want solute. The *.*msh file of your model will be opened by fluent for 3d models. You chose "3d" option when open the fluent. After input your file and determine some parameters. These parameters are:

1. For "steady" analysis will you go at the menu bar: Define->models->Solver and at the windows which has been opened, choose in the "Time" frame the option "Steady".

2.If you want to include and heat transfer you go: Define->models->Energy and you choose the energy equation.

The other steps are same with the 2d simulation...

Check flow-3d.com. Get the phone number and call them. Or email support@flow-3d.com.

Also see if there's a flow-3d forum on cfd-online.

Good luck!

Dear all,

As I am new to Flow-3D and I am working with my thesis for the scouring in the downstream of stilling basin.
Can anyone help me to mark the steady flow condition to consider it as the restart for later run while running the simulation?

This is for Fluent, not FLOW-3D. For FLOW-3D, use the steady state accelerator in numerics and also the termination criteria under Time>Finish options
