Hi all,
I am in my final year and require some assistance. I am currently on a project on simulation of flows in centrifugal compressor of the SR-30. However I am very confused about the 2D/3D modelling. I am supposed to create the model myself. I am supposed to mesh my model with ICEM CFD, using structured grid meshing. These have been created however I am not sure if this is right. Can anyone kindly advise please. Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you!! |

The models above were created with Solidworks based on dimensions given to me. Is my understanding of 2D/3D models wrong? How should I change it so that I can block it effectively in ICEM CFD.

Hello nnkd,
what kind of advice do you need in particular? The basic procedure is as follows, I dont know if this is a help because it is very generally written. 1. You begin with one 3-D block, which surrounds your whole geometry. 2. Split your block ad the edges "as needed" (make a sketch for help). 3. Associate the edges of your rectangular blocks to the edges of your geometry. 4. The blocks, which contain the blades can be deleted, because they will not contain a mesh. You say you have already created your mesh, maybe you can upload a screenshot? I attached 2 sketches, how I would block your geometry. I hope that helps. Best regards, Holger Last edited by DarylMusashi; December 2, 2015 at 12:47. |

If you want to build your own blade or have to check it you should read s.m yaha book(turbine compressor and fans ) this book is very useful for mech engineers
