NightWing is on a distinguished road
Hi all,
Natural convection in an enclosure with heating from the sides. I am doing a problem based on this aspect.
I have a pipe through which a liquid is flowing. I am heating the pipe (heat flux which is uniform) through the sides. I have assumed boussinesq approximation to be valid. As a result, the liquid which is present closer to the pipe walls, intakes the heat and starts to rise up (recirculate). As flux is applied on the pipe walls, it results in the formation of thermal boundary layer after time t + deltat.

I would like to know, if there is any correlation connecting this thermal boundary layer thickness with non dimensional parameters like Pr, Nu, Ra, Gr etc. So that i can compute the boundary layer thickness.

Note: the problem is natural convection in an enclosure with side wall heated.

Any suggestions???
