Hello everyone,
I am new to CFD tools. I started working on different airfoil geometries in SolidWorks. I am currently looking for ways to design different Leading edge curvatures to get max L/D ratio. I need an idea to design the same. Please help.! |

For subsonic airfoils a good start is something close to parabolic in the LE region, an even better start is probably to start looking at classical airfoil shapes before you start experimenting on your own. Theory of Wing Sections by Abbott and Doenhoff is a good book on classical airfoils. There are 50 years of experience from airfoils in that book and you need to stand on the shoulders of giants to reach higher. CFD on airfoils is another topic that can also be tricky. Do not trust the results of your fully turbulent general purpose CFD code.
