Hybrid RANS/LES flat plat

Dear all
I am developing a hybrid RANS/LES (gamma_Retheta IDDES) for flat boundary layers. The problem is that in the profile of skin friction (Cf), there is a sharp decay after transition (blue line is IDDES, symbols are the experiment and the green line is RANS), which means the turbulence deteriorate in that small region. Can someone help me solve this problem with a good suggestion? I do appreciate any help. H N |

First, I suggest to plot the x-axis in terms of the Re_x value.
Hovever, I am not sure to understand what you want, you cannot use RANS for studyng transition from laminar to turbulent conditions over a flat plate. Then, you should check your grid resolution, are you resolving correctly the BL? |
