Hello all,

I hope that you may help me. I am doing simulations of 3D multiphase flow with air and water. I am using a Front tracking method to capture the interface position.

I am interested in is annular flow in a vertical pipe wherein the air is going up at the centre of the pipe and water is falling down close to the walls.

To speed the simulation at steady state, I have included initial conditions for the velocity profiles. These velocities profiles depend on the the radial position.

I have attached one image which shows the interface position at time equals to zero. the interface has been coloured with the streetwise velocity. According to the initial condition the velocity at the interface should be the same. However, as you may see, the velocity at the interface is far from be constant, ranging between 5.5e-01 to -6.2e-1

How could you explain this behaviour? I think that this behaviour is associated to numerical problems (lack of resolution, principally)

Thanks in advance

The interface is exactly located at R=const and the grid matches the surface? If yes, this error is not normal
