Konstruktors is on a distinguished road
Hi, I'm a mechanical engineer and CFD is not particularly my thing and I wish to make electronics enclosures, but the heat transfer part of it more complex than expected and simulations are crucially necessary.

I wish to do the simulations myself so I need a easy to operate setup within some Open Source OpenFoam wrapper where I could import a STEP file of the enclosure, heat sources (several) with a set wattage and their connected die cast or extruded aluminium heat sinks.

The enclosures might be closed, with only the outside of the ABS enclosure touching the surrounding air, they might be open with a built in fan (rackmount etc.) or somewhere in between - an outside heatsink connected with heat pipes or just aluminium itself to the electronics on the inside without any air exchanging.

The most important part is the convection of air and heat transfer within the enclosure, whether the heat sink is suitable for the chosen design or not.

I know I am asking a user friendly interface from software that isn't such, but some of you should have reasonably understandable setups that could suit my case. If so, please contact me through direct messages.

Also, some form of training might also be suitable. Or, if there is any good documentation on such cases, could somebody give me a hand?

Kind Regards, Krišjānis from Latvia.
