My teacher told me that using OpenFOAM tool not more than calculator. But, I thinks it can be used more than later.

Is that true?

OpenFOAM is indeed just a tool like a calculator. But just like any calculator, you can use it to calculate nothing or something. The stuff that your calculator calculates can be more or less useful, but that doesn't change that a tool is just a tool. OpenFOAM is just lines of code (actually it's even less tangible and more abstract, OpenFOAM is a language. What you do with it is something different. Utility/usefulness is a valuation. What you can do with $10 (the utility/usefulness of $10) does not mean that $10 is not $10. In some places you can only buy a hamburger with $10, in other places people will do a lot more more for $10. Regardless of what you do with the $10, $10 is $10.
