Hello everyone,
I am working on a CFD project where i have to model a combustion process. I found a dissertation and found the meshing data as well but i couldn't create mesh like one shown in dissertation. I am using ANSYS fluent solver. I need help to divide the lower cylinder into 4 parts and to create a square block at the center of cylinder. I have attached an image of the meshing from dissertation. I am a new comer to the CFD world, any help is appreciated.
Regards.

gambit was creating it. If not then use gmsh.

If you can create the mesh in gmsh and wish to convert to fluent format, let me know. I wrote converter for Wildkatze bmsh format, could make converter to fluent too.

Hello arjun,
I may have solved the meshing problem that i encountered. When generating CAD model I created separate parts of the complex geometry ( so cylinder was split into 4 outer parts and an inner square as shown in image). So basically I unticked "merge" option in extrude menu of SolidWorks to create separate bodies.
My question- Is this gonna affect my CFD simulation ?
And how can i determine the quality of the mesh??
