Default Need help with unsteady Hess and Smith panel methods

While applying the Kutta condition in unsteady Hess and Smith panel method, a quadratic equation needs to be solved for the circulation. So which root needs to be selected among the two?
Also, there is a possibility of the determinant becoming negative at any step. How to deal with that?
