Hi everyone,

I'm currently modelling a BFB gasifier for biomass, specifically, brewers spent grain (BSG), and I'm struggling with the mass balance calculations. I've been using the approach from "BASIC DESIGN OF A FLUIDIZED BED GASIFIER FOR RICE HUSK ON A PILOT SCALE," but it doesn't fully account for the kinetics involved.

Does anyone have recommendations for models, papers, or software that provide a detailed walkthrough of the mass balance steps (I want to see full calcs), or that model the processes comprehensively?

If there is software that isn't ASPEN or Python / Matlab that models the process that'd be awesome. I'm mainly seeking one that focuses on process optimisation; looking into the effect of changing input/parameters on syngas out put and composition.
