Dear collegues.

I am calculating tip clearance flow in axial type turbomachinery. Because I used the low Reynolds number turbulence model, very dense grid with clustering near the wall is needed. I tried to generate mesh bu using commercial package, but I could not obtain any satisfactory results. Therefore, I determined to order the package and, if possible, please let me know your suggestions.

Thank you

If you need a high quality (hex) mesh with suitable spacing at the wall then you should have a look at GridPro.

There is also Tiger from Catalpa. You can download even a demo online and test if it is suitable for your application

IGG/Autogrid from NUMECA can certainly help you. This meshing tool is specifically dedicated to turbomachine and tip clearance modelisation can be performed.

"G/Turbo", a new preprocessing tool from Fluent is specially designed for Turbomachinery applications. It allows modeling of Tip clearances, and generates high quality mesh with nice boundary layers.
