Default coupled solver / uncoupled solver

Hi everybody,

I just started my PhD in the field of modelling natural convection.

I consulted a number of commercial CFD-companies whether to use their software or not and customer service of FLUENT told me not to use a coupled solver for my calculations because of the velocity of the flow.

Does anybody know about problematic aspects of coupled or uncoupled solvers and reasons for numerical difficulties and can any body recommend books or papers that cover these details?

Cheers Jaan
