Hi,
I am developing a parallel higher order unstructured Euler solver with WENO scheme. I am planning to implement load balancing as WENO reconstructions are roughly 3 to 5 times costlier depending on the order of the scheme. For a steady state computation, it is relatively easy to do load balancing as we know which cells need WENO. But, I am not sure how to deal with unsteady simulations. I am afraid that for these cases, as the shock front moves, the communication process for load balancing would consume more time than the actual computation. If any one has any idea in dealing with this, please advise. Shyam |
