I am planning to solve the following the pde U_t +f(u)_x=s(u) by finite difference method using time splitting ,I Need any kind of help how I can do this job.

Looks like you are trying to solve a 2-d problem, where the dimensions are time and space only involving x direction. You can try looking at books that have "Crank-Nicolson scheme" for your time splitting. of course, for spatial difference, you can look at the normal finite difference schemes(central, foward or backward difference, whichever you want to use). Hope this helps.
