Hello!

I'm trying to develop a code that solves flow problems on collocated grids, using a SIMPLE-type algorythm and Rhie-Chow interpolation of face values from cell center values. It is something like:

I have a misunderstanding: what to do in case a_p=0?
How to interpolate then?

imagine such a model case: invisid flow, say using the 1st order upwind scheme, say two flows equal in magnitude but opposite in direction, then in the region where they meet we have such a situation in computation

Sorry, but couldn't anyone really explain please, why anywhere where Rhie-chow interpolationis described, the possibility when a_p or other coefficient (that can be seen in the denominator) equals zero, isn't regarded though it may really take place?

i do not know about your case, but if it happens, the condition |a_p|\geq\sum|a_{nb}| will not be satisfied and you can not solve the equations based on the patankar rules.
